About this piece

The buddhist term Samsara connotes "cyclic change" or "cyclicity of all life, matter, existence. In this piece, I take the viewer on a journey though seasonal change, though growth and decay, though death and rebirth.

The Great Goddess often had snakes as her companions and they were worshiped as guardians of her mysteries of birth and regeneration. In this piece, she and her snake represent the transitory nature of all things. All of life is a cosmic play and for a brief and fleeting moment, we get to dance in the world of form before being absorbed back into the formless.
